Other Disciplines Approach and Outcome of the Curriculum - Home Economics vs Chemistry



The pictures above are the contents we've discussed during lesson. Shereen and I compare Home Economics with Chemistry in terms of its syllabus, strategies, approaches and pedagogies.

In general, Home Economics and Chemistry are very similar in their syllabus structure - consists of theory and practical aspects. But their approach of the content are very different as mentioned above.

The contents of Home Economics can be summarised in a mindmap/concept map for students to understand the whole picture of the syllabus. Although Chemistry can also be summarised in mindmap/concept map, it is usually explained in table/chart form as there are many complicated concepts which require students to understand that are more important than them understanding the big picture.
